Kalan's Baptism

The night before the To family went to church with Ben ,Chris and Jason and Kelly (Godparents) for a welcoming mass where Kalan was introduced to the community. Kalan went out up the front and people put the sign of the cross on his face.

On Sunday lots of family and friends came to celebrate Kalan's special day. First Mum put on Kalan' s special white christening suit on. Then we went into Holy Family church for the baptism service. The priest did some talking and then he annointed Kalan by putting oil on his neck. Then Dad held Kalan while the priest put water on his head. The Godparents then had to stand out the front and and hold a candle for Kalan. This represents the Light of Christ. the faith. They now have an important job of watching over Kalan and looking after his spiritual upbringing.
Now Kalan is officially a Catholic! Afterwards a lot of photos were taken.

After church the celebrations continue with us having a yummy lunch at the Lanyon club.
We then cut the cake which Chelsea thought was really yummy. It was in the shape of a bible and had blue and white icing on it.

A very special day! It's great to see that Kalan had so many family members and friends around him for his special moment. The boys had a great time and look forward to the long weekend in June to celebrate Chelsea's birthday!
