She had been telling Mum 'Santa was going to bring her one for the last two months.'
Chelsea also got lots of cool princess presents as well. These include Little Mermaid blocks, princess books, handbag, karaoke set, wand and shoes. Aunty Shell gave her a princess tent that Chelsea played with heaps!
Kalan didn't miss out either. With the help from his big sister he opened up his presents. He got a Press and Go Train, a Thomas set, Farm truck , little soccer ball, kangaroo and a Tiger ball Toss.
After having a yummy lunch both Kalan and Chelsea were very tired and had an afternoon nap.

Christmas Shopping!

The following day we went to Bondi Junction for some last minute Christmas shopping.
The family took a train there from the hotel which was really fun!
Chelsea's favourite part was the Build A Bear Workshop!

This is wear you can customized your own bear and put different fashion outfits/accessories on. Chelsea walked around playing with a kangaroo for a while. Chelsea took the dressed up kangaroo around the shop for walks in the stroller and brushed it several times to make it look nice.. Then we bought a kangaroo and Chelsea dressed it up in a Hello Kitty outfit for Kalan for Christmas!

In the afternoon we went into the city. At the Myers toy area Chelsea and her cousin Asthon
enjoyed a Santa train ride.

Family Trip to Sydney!

We spent a lovely time in Sydney with Bernie's sisters/family.
Chelsea, Kalan and her cousin Asthon had a great time at the Wiggles!
Chelsea really loved watching the Wiggles and did many of the actions to her favourite Wiggle songs. Kalan was memorised and stayed awake for the entire Wiggle concert much to Mums surprise. Chelsea held hands with her brother for a couple of songs and said 'Dance with me'.

Even though Chelsea was very tired we managed to also fit in a trip to the Sydney Aquarium the same day. Her favourite animals were the fairy penquins, seals and fishes!

Kalan's Six Months Old Now!

Kalan is now six months old now ! Time has flown by. Kalan's first six months have been very eventful and Mum is sure the next six months will be just as busy with crawling, walking, talking and eating solids to come.
He has just been immunised against more bugs. Before we knew it more needles! Ouch! Wether this helps who knows! (Mum and Dad hope so)
Also he has got two front teeth that have cut! Lucky Grandma gave him a teething ring to chew on. Kalan likes board books, the mobile, the play gym that has colourful balls going around and anything that makes a loud noise. The person that makes Kalan the most happiest is his big sister Chelsea.

Decorating the Christmas Tree!

Chelsea was given a purple star by Captain Starlight to put on the tree. Chelsea was very excited and couldn't wait to set up the Christmas tree and decorate it.
After putting only two decorations on ( star on top and a butterfly she had made with Captain Starlight) and the tree looking very bare Chelsea said 'That's beautiful'. Chelsea asked Mum about pink tinsel and princess balls to put on . We had neither for the tree but once the decorations were out she didn't seem to care. Chelsea careful went through the decorations and put them on the tree. The bottom of the tree had lots of ornaments and very nice. When Chelsea looked up higher and it was looking a bit bare Chelsea said 'Maybe I'll get my step stool.'
Then she put some decorations higher up. After we put the tree up she with red and yellow tinsel she said 'That's Perfect !'.

Playroom's Christmas Party!

Kalan is now being treated as an outpatient at the hospital. This means Kalan has a nice relaxing bath and gets dressed up like a mummy twice a day. Once at the hospital with a nurse to check his eczema and once at home.

After a long month of being in hospital Kalan now has a Paediatrician (Dr Hufton), Dermatologist (Dr Miller) and a Dietitian. After much discussion Dr Miller thinks its just eczema and some type of allergy. Different things will cause the skin to fare up. eg.weather, food allergy, teething and infections.

Chelsea didn't mind this as it meant she could go to the Playroom's Christmas Party!

This was lots of fun as she got her face painted as a a fairy, ate party food and watched Milo the Clown do magic tricks like juggling and riding a unicycle. The best part was the end end when Santa came and gave out presents. Chelsea got a little baby in a sleeping bag

Kalan Goes Back to Hospital

Kalan goes back to see Dr Miller again but his eczema is looking worse than ever. Mum is not sure if its heat related or the antibiotics are not working as Kalan's head keeps weeping. Dr Miller send us back to hospital for a few days. In the afternoon we get booked in. Do more blood tests, swap his head and a skin biopsy again. Go back to wet dressings twice daily (had stopped this briefly).

On the Wednesday The playroom have a party for Captain Starlight as it has been a whole year since they have started at the hospital. Chelsea had a great time at the party. She played pass the parcel, collected lollies from a smashed pinata and played with balloons. Ate fairy bread and chocolate cake.

On Thursday Kalan gets discharge from hospital . Chelsea gets a little present from Captain Starlight. It was a little yellow pony with a hairbrush. Chelsea loved it. Chelsea and Mum get their hair braided nicely by Captain Starlight for dinner. Mum and Dad take Kalan and Chelsea out for a romantic anniversary dinner.

Kalan's Adventure Continues

The third week Mum stayed back in hospital with Kalan.

Kalan was not at all keen for the formula being offered after five months of Mum's lovely breast milk so most of the week was spent with an ng tube on him. This meant that he could get the formula through to Kalan with out him tasting it every few hours. Kalan thought the tube was annoying and kept trying to take it out. Kept offering the bottle but not that keen. After a lot of hard work Kalan started taking 20mls from the bottle. The formula doesn't taste very good so he took a bit more when it was flavoured with vanilla and changed to a Nuk teat.

On Wednesday the grandparents came to visit and hear all about Kalan's trip to hospital!

By Thursday night Kalan gave in and took a whole bottle. Mum had mixed emotions about this was happy you took the bottle so we could take the ng tube out but sad about giving up breast feeding. Grandad and Grandma stayed for a couple of days to help out. Grandma was very excited to be abls to give you a botttle.

After Mum complainng about Kalan's head weeping more and more. The doctors decided to do a swap of your head again to see if anything new had grown.
After a few days the result came back and can you believe a new bug had emerged.

The bug of the week is called pseudonymous!
Dr Rosier told Mum this is normally treated with a iv drip and would mean maybe a longer stay in hospital but will try to treat it with oral antibiotics so we can go home.
On the Wednesday Dr Miller let us go home with oral antibiotics and creams for his eczema and go see him next Mon for a check up.
